Sorell Planning Authority (SPA)
The Sorell Planning Authority (SPA), formally known as DASC, considers and makes decisions on determines all planning applications where staff do not have delegation. The SPA will consider applications that are large in scale, are for Council land or Council staff or have multiple representations. Unlike some other Councils, planning decisions are not considered at meetings of the Council, but are instead considered by the SPA .
SPA meetings are held on Tuesdays at 4.30pm at the Community Administration Centre (CAC), 47 Cole Street, Sorell.
SPA meetings are scheduled as required and are advertised in The Mercury on the Wednesday prior to the meeting being held.
These meetings are open to the public and the agenda is available on Council’s website on the Thursday preceding the meeting. Please note that public question time is not allocated during SPA meetings and there is no opportunity to discuss issues or concerns.
