Nominations for our Australia Day Awards 2025 are now OPEN!

The Australia Day Awards recognise those individuals and groups in our community whose contributions make a positive difference. These Awards are the highest honour Council can bestow on an individual or group for their service to the community.

We seek nominations in the following Award categories:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Community Group of the Year
  • Community Event of the Year

To be eligible all individual/group nominations must be residents and/or have significant involvement within the Municipality. Nominations can be made based upon an individual’s active involvement in the community over numerous years or on significant involvement in a particular project or activity.

Nominations close on Friday 10 January 2025.

Australia Day Awards - Nomination Form

Form to make a nomination in our Australia Day Awards

    To be eligible for Citizen of the year, the person must be 27 years or older on 26 January of the year of nomination.

    To be eligible for Young Citizen of the year, the person must not be more than 27 years of age on 26 January of the year of nomination.

    Community Group of the Year is the community group that has made an outstanding contribution to the community throughout the year.

    Community Event of the Year is the person or group who staged the most outstanding community event during the year.
